Hospitium Admin Fields
Documentation on fields found in Hospitium.
Organization Fields
Organizations are the core of Hospitium. Organizations allow data to organized and hidden from other people. Add only users you trust to manage your shelter. Organizations are the only information that is required to be entered into Hospitium.
Name is the name of your organization. These are unique in each instance of Hospitium. This is required.
Phone number is the main phone number of the organization. This is optional.
Address is the street address of the organization. This is required.
City the city the organization. This is required.
State the state the organization is in. This is required.
Zip code the zip code of the organization. This is required.
Email the main email of the organization. This is optional.
Website the website of the organization. This is required.
Animal Fields
Animals are the main part of tracking shelter animals. They belong to organizations and can have other attributes like species and colors.
This is a detailed explanation of each field seen when creating or modifying animals.
Name is the name of your animal. This is required.
Previous Name this is any name the animal may have had when they were relinquished to your rescue. This is optional.
Status is a drop down of options on the current status of the animal. Options include {Adoptable, New Intake, Sanctuary, Sick, Deceased, Adopted, and Foster Care}. This is a required field.
Public by checking this box you agree to list this animal on the sites Adopt an Animal listing page. This is optional.
Species is a drop down of species belonging to organizations that the user belongs to. This is required.
Spay neuter this is a drop down with a yes or no option. This is required.
Biter refers to if there is a known issue with this animal biting or being aggressive. This is a drop down with a yes or no option. This is required.
Date of intake is the date the animal was taken in by the rescue. Click in the field to see a date picker. Select the date from the calendar. This is required.
Date of well check is the date of the first vet appointment the animal received. Click in the field to see a date picker. Select the date from the calendar. This is optional.
Shelter is the shelter the animal may have come from. This is optional.
Special needs is a text box for any special needs the animal may have. You could also you this for notes about the animal. This is optional.
Diet is a text box for any special diet requirements the animal may have. This is optional.
Adopted date if the animal is adopted put the date here. Click in the field to see a date picker. Select the date from the calendar. This is optional.
Deceased if the animal is deceased put the date here. Click in the field to see a date picker. Select the date from the calendar. This is optional.
Deceased reason put any known reasons of death here. This is optional.
Image upload an image of the animal. Click Choose File and select the image. (jpeg/png allowed) This is optional.
Species Fields
Species are the high level grouping of animal types. Go as granular as you want. Create one as simple as "Dog" or create one for each breed.
Name is the name of the species. This is required.
Adoption Contact Fields
Adoption Contacts are a way for you to store information about the people who adopt your animals.
First Name the contacts first name. This is required.
Last Name the contacts last name. This is required.
Address the address of the adoption contact. Please include the entire address in this field. This is optional.
Phone the phone number of the contact. (555)555-5555 is the standard format. This is optional.
Email the email address of the contact. This is optional.
Adopted Date the date the animal was adopted. This is optional.
Animal the animal the contact adopted. This is optional.
Animal Color Fields
Animal Colors are used by the animal. Create as many or as few as you would like.
Color the color. This is required.
Animal Weight Fields
Animal Weights are used to track the weight of a particular animal over time. The weight is charted in the animal show view.
Weight the weight of the animal in grams. This is required.
Date of weight the date of the weight gathering. This is required.
Animal the animal the weight was taken for. This is required.
Relinquishment Contact Fields
Relinquishment contacts are used to track people who leave animals in your care.
First Name the contacts first name. This is required.
Last Name the contacts last name. This is required.
Address the address of the adoption contact. Please include the entire address in this field. This is optional.
Phone the phone number of the contact. (555)555-5555 is the standard format. This is optional.
Email the email address of the contact. This is optional.
Reason any reasons given by the contact about why they had to get rid of the animal. This is optional.
Animal the animal the contact relinquished. This is optional.
Shelter Fields
Shelters can track the other shelters your rescue interacts with.
Name the shelter name. This is required.
Contact first the first name of a contact at the shelter. This is optional.
Contact last the last name of a contact at the shelter. This is optional.
Address the address of the shelter. Please include the entire address in this field. This is optional.
Phone the phone number of the shelter. (555)555-5555 is the standard format. This is optional.
Email the email address of the shelter. This is optional.
Website the website of the shelter. This is optional.
Notes any additional notes about the shelter. This is optional.
User Fields
Users is where you can updated your user information or manage other users of your organization.
Email the email address of the user. This is required.
Password the password of the user. When creating new users, enter a temp password here, when editing a user, fill in if password change needed. This is optional.
Password confirmation the password of the user. When creating new users, enter a temp password here, when editing a user, fill in if password change needed. This is optional.
Username the username of the user. This is required.
Vet Contact
Vet contacts are used to track vet clinics your animals or rescue interacts with.
Clinic name the name of the vet clinic. This is required.
Address the address of the vet contact. Please include the entire address in this field. This is optional.
Phone the phone number of the vet contact. (555)555-5555 is the standard format. This is optional.
Email the email address of the vet contact. This is optional.
Website the website of the vet contact. This is optional.
Hours standard operating hours of the vet contact. This is optional.
Emergency track if the vet is open for emergency care or not. This is optional.
Volunteer Contact
Volunteer contacts let you track all the volunteers that help your rescue.
First Name the contacts first name. This is required.
Last Name the contacts last name. This is required.
Address the address of the volunteer contact. Please include the entire address in this field. This is optional.

Email the email address of the contact. This is optional.
Application date the date the volunteer applied to work at the rescue. This is optional.
